02:41 am - Don't Be Cruel – An Ode to Twitter
You know I can be found,
Sitting home all alone.
If you can't come around,
At least please telephone.
Don't be cruel to a heart that's true.

Baby, if I made you mad
For something I might have said,
Please, let's forget the past,
The future looks bright ahead.
Don't be cruel to a heart that's true.
I don't want no other love,
Baby, it's just you I'm thinking of.

Don't stop thinking of me.
Don't make me feel this way.
Come on over here and love me.
You know what I want you to say.
Don't be cruel to a heart that's true.
Why should we be apart?
I really love you baby, cross my heart.

Let's walk up to the preacher,
And let us say I do.
Then you'll know you'll have me,
And I'll know that I'll have you.
Don't be cruel to a heart that's true.
I don't want no other love.
Baby, it's just you I'm thinking of.

Don't be cruel to a heart that's true.
Don't be cruel to a heart that's true.
I don't want no other love.
Baby, it's just you I'm thinking of.

It's amazing how much of that actually applies to the situation. Apologies to Elvis Presley for the parts that don't.

04:22 pm - Hey, it's me again
Barring my first post way back in 2001, it seems like I only like to post to my LiveJournal in even years. And, since it's now 2008, I figured I'd give it another shot. I don't actually have anything to say, but that's alright.

And I've tried this before, but I mean it this time: If you're reading this post, kindly reply below. I don't mind if you've been stalking my every move, waiting for me to make another post, or if you're just a friend of mine who happened to see me on their friends page. Just make a comment and remind me that you exist.

11:47 pm - Oh yeah? help this!
I know. I haven't said anything for three months or so. And, frankly, I don't have much to say now.

But I do want everyone to know that I hate the "help" key on the Mac keyboard.

That is all.

So... it's kinda been a whole week since I updated. A whole school week, anyway. See, I've been busy. And I mean actually busy, not just wasting time in other places.

Various school-related rants )

Let's see... Coral's supposed to be coming here today. Let's see if it actually happens this time.

This entry was relatively short compared to the last one. I guess everything's just blurred together.

Oh, and it's raining.

So... you would think that after a week of school (albeit only three days long, with the first day being short), that I would have something to say. I don't, really. Nothing monumental, anyway.

This turned out to be rather long.... )

I wish I had gotten a chance to work on SASHA over the summer. I could really use it now. And a couple of other plugs: Long Beach Radio, my Johari Window (which has yet to be filled out).

07:31 pm - Class of 1981, 25th Reunion Video
I just watched this 20 minute video made for the 25th reunion of the Long Beach High School Class of 1981. You're likely to know at least one person in this video. Apparently a lot of the parents of our fellow students were class of '81, as were a few of our teachers.

Enjoy!

So... today was a rather horrible day, which started sometime after I finished that survey.

Read about it. )

Alright, it's a bit of a boring synopsis of the day. And keep in mind that I'm still rather sleep-deprived at the moment.

I don't normally fill out such surveys, but it was more or less specifically requested that I complete this one. We'll see how it goes.... )

02:45 am - Redecorating the playhouse...
In case anyone didn't notice, I changed the styles on my various pages. I've also added some more information to my profile that might help point people in the right directions about me. I've also upgraded to the Plus Account or whatever the ad-supported thing is called. I'm not sure if it'll do me any good, as I haven't checked out what new features are available to me, but there you go. Enjoy.

09:24 pm - Wrong number, again
So... I was at Starbucks for my daily observation (what? I didn't tell you that I'm going to Starbucks every night this week from 8 to 9 PM for my SUPA English assignment?) and I got a phone call that my phone didn't know. I answered it, only to be greeted by my phone's "Call Ended" beeps. I looked at the number and recognized the 456 prefix. To double-check, I looked in my "Received Calls" list and saw that the 456 number from last week was gone, which shows that it was the same 456 number. (It's actually annoying... I only know the latest call from each phone number, not any previous ones.) So, whoever has the 456 number likes to call me, but not talk to me. And if it happens a third time, I'm going to post the full number here. If you call me, talk to me. Don't hang up as soon as I answer.

02:53 am - Scavenger Hunt
There's a scavenger hunt this Saturday, September 2nd. It's apparently related to Long Beach in some way (aside from that being the location of the hunt). I need a team of 3 or 4 people. Inquire within for the details, if you don't already have them.

OK, I'm telling you straight from the beginning that there is no official point to this post. I'm just posting something to temporarily break the now-constant stream of soon-to-be-seniors' schedules and college hopes, a chain reaction that may or may not have been sped up by the posting of my own schedule and college hopes. So yeah. You have been warned.

Anyway, I'm not going to actually leave the post with just that in. Then you wouldn't have a reason to read it (and neither would I), and it would, therefore, defeat the purpose of the entry. (Hmm... it seems that I have now given myself the opportunity to go off on a tangent. It appears that I began, out of habit, by calling this a post. I suppose that it's a throw-back to my forums involvement. But it's really an entry. So let's call it that.)

I suppose an important thing that has not yet been mentioned here would be Long Beach Radio. We need volunteers (which I lovingly call my "staff", even though none of us get paid... yet) to do various jobs. Reporters and the like, especially. If you'd like to become involved, head over to the website and send me an e-mail via the contact form there. Also, we'll be setting up a raffle rundraiser so that we can actually get some stuff bought and some stuff done. I have no further details (prizes, prices, dates, etc.), but you may want to start saving your money. We're going to try really hard to get some good stuff to raffle. Also, if you just want to donate, you can do that, too. We'll gladly put your name up on the website for all to see how generous you are. If any of these things spark your interest, or anything else comes to mind, feel free to use that same contact form to e-mail us. We really do want to hear from people.

Also, Adam will soon be starting a MySpace advertising blitz for LBR, so if you want to join in with him, we'll gladly appreciate it. Details to follow, I suppose.

OK, so the pointless post entry turned into an infomercial for Long Beach Radio. That's fine; I'm OK with that. After all, it is my company.

11:31 pm - I Me Mine
I did this the last time, but I'm doing it again. It gives me an excuse to use songs by The Beatles in some way. Once again, credit goes to Coral (who probably got it from someone else).

03:45 pm - Schedule time
Alright, technically, this is a bit cross-posted from [info]classof2007. But would you have noticed if I didn't tell you?

Schedule came today:
1. Free/Gym
2. AP Calculus
3. SUPA English (Writing 105)
4. Physics H
5. Physics H Lab/Free
6. AP Statistics
7. College Human Genetics
8. AP American Government and Politics
9. AP Spanish Language

Which means that I don't have lunch every day, even though I specifically asked for it.

Also, for the benefit of anyone who hasn't read the ugly and poorly over-printed Comic Sans message at the bottom of their schedule, those "free" periods aren't actually free periods. But they better be filled in with Study Hall and Lunch when I get into school on the 6th, or I'm not going to be very happy.

01:20 am - Wrong number
So... I asked if anyone was reading. As expected, I got zero responses. In fact, it garnered complete silence. I was at the top of my friends page for over 36 hours.

And yet, I feel compelled to write here. Why is that?

So... today was a strange day. I went to see Snakes on a Plane with Adam Maresca. Obviously, that combination automatically amounts to a strange day. But that wasn't all. After the movie, we ran into, among others, Larry Gaier. This was the first time he's spoken to me in, likely, years... and he attempted to remember my phone number. Quite amusing, I must say.

That wasn't the only thing related to phones. In fact, the other half of the strange is completely about phones. I hadn't gotten a phone call on my cell phone since Gabby called me circa Wednesday. And then, in the middle of one of the most indescribable movies I've ever seen, I get a phone call from some number that my phone doesn't recognize. I'm a good boy, so I listened to the sign that told me to turn off my phone before entering the movie theater. So my phone was on vibrate when the call came in. After what seemed like way too long to be vibrating, I just hit the button to send the call to voicemail. They never actually left one.

When I got home, I tried calling the number back, first with Skype, and then by returning the call from my cell phone. Both times, whoever answered never said hello. In fact, they never said anything. There was background noise for a few seconds, and then the person hung up. Granted, I didn't say anything either, but I would expect someone to answer with "hello". Whoever it was, they have a prefix of "456" (I wouldn't want to just randomly give someone's phone number away online) and it's a Verizon cell phone ("CELLCO PARTNERSHIP DBA VERIZON WIRELESS - NY").

As if that wasn't enough, later in the night, I get another call from someone else I don't know. I think it was a home phone with a prefix of "365" ("VERIZON NEW YORK, INC."). From what I can tell, the connection must not have been very good, as there was an extended "Hello?" "Hello.", back and forth, before what sounded something like, "Erin? It's Chrissa." (Again, there was a bit of a drop out and bewilderment, so names and spelling are not guaranteed accurate.) Then I said, "I think you have the wrong number". OK, that was that. And yet, somehow, I pretty much expected the call back about 30 seconds later. I answered with, "You still have the wrong number." To which she replied, "Oh, sorry. " "[laughing] It's OK." "" OK, so that was that. Or so I thought.

I've been at a loss for time today, for some reason, but I'm going to estimate that about a half hour later, while I was in the middle of watching my recorded "The Beatles LOVE by Cirque du Soleil" special, my phone rings again. I had to jump up from the couch to go get the phone, so I didn't get a chance to look at the number before I picked up. "Hello?" "[quietly] Hello? Who's this?" "Who's this?" ""

It always intrigues me when someone calls the same wrong number more than once. How did they get that number? It's likely not a dialing mistake when it happens multiple times. So, basically, I'm reaching out to a non-existent audience, wondering if anyone knows who called me today. I mean, in the beginning (a year ago), I was getting calls for Donna, presumably the person who had my phone number before me. But that doesn't seem to be the case here.

I'm wondering how they got my number. But I'm going to stop babbling incoherently and wasting so much space. Have a good period of day in which you read this. Assuming that you do.
